Hello, I have this Masonic plate and I have found markings on the bottom. From what I can see, it appears to be early bow porcelain but I'm not 100% sure. There appears to be a bust very small that closely resembles George Washington and another bust that is hard to identify. There is what seems to be script initials incised into the porcelain but very small. Also, the number 1 appears on the rim of the bottom. Please, any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, from my understanding, the symbol on the plate did not come into appearance until 1855, although the capital A marking relates to very early bow porcelain. I believe this plate may have been repurposed for Masonic purpose and enameled later, maybe

The capital A resembles a mark I saw online to represent early bow porcelain

Yes, the A is on paper. I wanted to show it a little better.

The initials are somewhat illegible. Although, seems to be a gW in script. I am just not sure

I used just a little lead to expose the initials the best way I could

I’m seeing some of these as made by Sanders? I’m not sure these are the date you think. They look much later to me.

That's what I don't understand, are the Sanders plates a reproduction? I do however have a different pattern here.

Other people who know more than me about ceramics will be along.
Why do you think it’s early Bow?

Well, the markings are much older on the plate I have. I could only identify the marks as very early bow porcelain. The Sanders plates seem to be a reproduction of some sort

The capital A I see on the bottom of the plate resembles a mark I found that represents bow. I am just so unsure. There are two bust markings similar to a duty mark.

The main pattern on the front with the flat colours looks like modern printing to me. I agree the gilding on yours looks different to the one I found on Pinterest but overall the feeling is fairly modern. As I said others will be along at some time to help you.
