Do you own just Volume 1, @Estaterestate ? One volume is of course incomplete without the other. Too bad the listing that Debora found on abebooks doesn't have a picture. Since that one is only Vol. 2, you could buy it and then you'd have both. If it is as rare as the book dealer in the first link states, you should be able to sell both for more than the one. If that's your goal. I notice that you sometimes ask no questions in your posts. If you are just showing it without a question, that's another thing entirely. It looks very interesting!

The spine of yours has very distinctive insect damage. Adding another volume will show clear marriage.

Yes, I was thinking that as well, after I wrote the previous post.

 

what does clear marriage mean?

 

In the antiques world, a "marriage" means that two pieces were put together that did not originally belong together. When Debora wrote "clear marriage" that means it would be obvious that those two individual books were not together originally... that Volume 1 had a different Volume 2 and that Volume 2 had a different Volume 1, originally.
