Found this today while thrift store hunting.. Can anyone make out the artist's name?
What style of painting is this - expressionist?
It is unusual (to me) in that it appears done in greys - but then you see patches/areas of yellow!
    Thanks!

Hey Journey, I have a question for you. You seem to sell a lot of artwork on ebay or otherwise online. Which begs the question to me of how on earth you ship it? A large print with glass seems to me to be almost impossible to pack safely. How do you do it? Who do you use to ship it? And how much does it cost?

Grieunanski? ... Wild guess, that doesn't appear to be a name.

jeff drum - I pack it or have fedex pack it & then go online to www.shipbikes.com; they use fedex but must have a huge volume discount because it's usually cheaper to use them & fedex than to ship through usps!
ps - sorry for late answer - I guess I lost track of this post because I just posted same painting & question and I need help found this thread - and I found your question!

Thanks for the answer! I'm still happy to find out, so thanks for coming back to it. But now another question - I checked the site, and it looks like it is designed only to ship bikes? But I guess you can hand them any large box (probably needs to be pretty thin?) and they don't really care and are willing to ship it? So where do you get your boxes from? And have you ever had any damage like frame glass breaking in shipment?

You can ship anything with shipbikes.com - I sold a Will Moses baseball print on ebay yesterday & had fedex pack ot & call me with dimenions & weight and then I went on shipbikes and got the label emailed to me - and I forwarded it to fedex.

I am so glad you posted this information! Thanks! I am trying to sell a few over sized antiques on Etsy and their shipping calculator is quoting outrageous prices that average my customers $80-$125. I did some calculations on the ShipBikes website just now and found prices that average $38-$65 for my larger items. This may have just helped me get some sales because I am losing buyers because the shipping costs are too high.

There is a unbelievable difference, right? They must get a heck of a volume discount from fedex - because they still have to make money from the quote & yet a lot of times they are cheaper than sending by USPS!
(and I do give fedex credit even with their outrageous fees - I've had very few things shipped by them arrive damaged as opposed to the post office: where it seems like 25% of fragile items I send with them end up with a damaged package claim!)

That is an unbelievable difference! You may have just helped me save my online antiques business. Most of my items are not terribly huge or heavy, but anything that goes in a box larger than 12"x12"x12" is considered oversize now. The rates have gone through the roof. Antiques that I used to ship for just $12-$18 across the USA are now averaging $48-$60! My business has gone down by 60-70% since the latest rate increase, not to mention that customers now have to pay online sales taxes now too.

I was really worried I would lose everything I worked hard for because none of my buyers want to pay these high shipping costs until I saw your post. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for mentioning this company. I am so grateful for you.
