I got these three rugs when I got the two Navajo rugs yesterday. I'm pretty sure all 3 are Caucasian, but I don't know what type.

The first one is 37" by 44". It's very finely woven, but has three patches.

I love them too! They actually are very much like my rugs. Now here's why I mention it.

I've brought lovely old rugs home from auctions, thrifts, retail stores, Ebay etc. All was going well until somewhere along the line we got moths and probably from some source along the way.

So I did my best to rid the rugs of all their little bitty creepy crawlies :sour: but because they still show up from time to time all my rugs are bagged and stored in my garage:(.

They are no more if that ever happens. It's been at least a year and a half since they were discovered. I've used pheromone traps, steam, vacuuming and bug spray in areas the cat can't get in to.

I've removed ever wool thing in the house

The rugs I subjected to heat, sunshine, vacuuming and in some cases bug spray before sealing each in plastic.

Every so often I find a teeny moth or two fluttering about so it's still not safe to bring them back and I'm not sure it ever will be.:(

    Hi,
I had an old rug with reoccurring moths. Put it in a Dryel bag and steamed in the drier for 30 mins. Dryel is one of those home dry cleaning kits. Did not hurt the rug and cured the problem. The trouble is once you see the moth they have laid more eggs and the cycle starts again.

Yup, I have found them places that have nothing to do with wool now that the wool and fur items are all removed.

In retrospect I would treat all second hand wool items as if they did have a moth problem before bringing them in. Live and learn. I miss my rugs.
