My husband and I found this piece at an auction and would love to know the maker and age. We are thinking about selling it to help pay off some of our student loans and would like to know an estimate of how much you think would be a good asking price.

The curved glass is in tact, but some of the intricate details on the doors were broken when we got it. We have a key that works on the glass doors, but not one for the drawers or the glass doors. All the hardware looks original.

    92" tall x 74" wide x 20" deep

Thanks for all of your help!

You are not going to get a lot of responses with pics in a pdf file. Make the pics smaller and post them directly here. That said, I did take a look at your first pic. It is a late Victorian double armoire. Likely English. The large size and damage detract from this so doubt you will realize enough to make much of a dent in your student loans. Here in semi-rural Midwest, you might see this go for under $300.00 at auction. At retail, more like $600-750.00. Finding a buyer would take awhile and you would likely have to take less than asking price. You might do better in larger cities or other locations.

Thanks Brad. This was my first time posting and I kept getting errors that the files were too large. I'll try to find a different way to shrink the file size so that I can post the pictures.

We are in San Antonio and got the piece for $250 at the auction.

You'll need to make your album public or no one will be able to see the new pictures.

Weve been doing well with nice pieces lately at auction.
If its with a reputable auction house that has time to advertise it I could see it bringing $400-$600.

I dont see it doing much more at retail

if you're looking to pay off student loans.....think about coins or stamps.....you can fit them in a shoe box and ship them ....cheaply.

In an Antique Mall near Cleveland Oh., it would sell for $450.00 to $550.00.

But selling it to a dealer in that mall....would net you far less.

Am I the only one who thinks that maybe this isn't that old?
Not saying it isn't a nice piece, just questioning the age.

Do you have a picture of the dovetails on the drawers?
