No doubt you know already that the 2nd pic of the marks is upside down. The column on the right are the marks for Dai Nippon - Great Japan.

The Satsuma page on the Gotheborg site, #490 a good 3/4ths of the way down the page or the 19th pic up from the bottom (under the section "Recent Additions"), has markings like yours except the characters are in a single column starting with the characters in the right column followed by the characters in the left column. The description/info on these markings says:

"490. Dai Nippon Koda tsukuru, or Dai Nippon Mukoda tsukuru. The characters to the right are unread. Satsuma pottery of the Kyoto School. Popular export ware. Late Edo/Early Meiji period 1868-1912 c. 1865."

Thank you khl, for the correction!!! It amazes me how good you are at interperting these intricate Oriental marks, characters. How lucky we are to have you.
