Majolica Pot

    Don't know why, perhaps it is the slightly muted colours, but I dont think it is antique, more 1950s-70s.

    Other than that, no idea!

    Too bad for the "stubbed toe" :happy::happy:.....don't know if old or not, but the colors are very kewel!!!! Love the goats (?) heads!!!

    Very pretty. The impressed numbers make me think it's a vintage piece. Some of the English makers did "rams head" pots, but this looks to me like a mass-produced continental copy of the better English pieces. Same time period or a little later than the English pieces but still antique. This is guesswork but I'm throwing it out there in case it helps you in your research.

    Hate to say this, but it's very like some Chinese copies I've seen of late, even down to the numbers.

    Any reasons to think that it could be a Chinese copy? I don't think it recent, neither Chinese.
