Two Glass ?s What is this Red Thing and What is this Mark on Custard Glass

This red thing is weird. It has an large opening like a vase and then an appendage that is open to the inside and the pointed end has a tiny hole. When I blow into it, it goes all the way into the vase end. It measures 9" high and 10" side to side.



Then I have this custard glass relish with swan handles. It's cracked so it's just a learning piece. I don't recognize the mark on the bottom. It's 6" across. Any ideas?

red is known as a porron wine pitcher

 

The bottom part looks kind of like a British Registry mark. Thanks for the info.

 

Could the red one be a watering 'can'?

 

yes, some folks can interpret those to get dates and such.

No, it's definitely a porron. You should check some of the videos on the web to see people attempt to use these. I thought at first along the same lines as you with "vase" but it just didn't seem right.

Yes, it was. But it had a very bad crack in it and it had to go. It was threatening to fall apart when I photographed it. I really like it too.
