Looks like the silver lion but facing the other way? There might be a 12k gold hallmark like this? Help appreciated.

Are you assuming this is English?

    Does it say anything INSIDE?

I suppose I was assuming it may be. Is it not? I guess when I said “is it neither?” I was leaving open the possibility it wasn’t and that these weren’t “hallmarks” but just marks.

I don’t know, I asked. We will see. I’m guessing no.

In that case, I do not see anything there that would qualify as definitively English (or any country's) hallmark material so your no guess is probably good. The crown is the wrong shape. I just wasn't sure why you brought up "silver lion." and I can't tell which direction it is actually facing - right or left?

Nothing else at all? Nothing inside? Do you have a way to get it tested?

The 'crown-18-lion' mark was used by Philadelphia maker H. Muhr's Sons on their gold-filled thimbles...

Trademark registrations (seem to recall a '14' gold-filled mark too):

There appeared to be a lion facing right whereas the lion seen on English silver would face left. This was an online listing. I don’t own it. Was just wishful thinking that it may be gold. Didn’t buy it.

It’s an 18 I think. I don’t think all pseudo hallmarks/English inspired marks are meant to fool or confuse but this one is pretty confusing.

Here it is a bit enhanced....I do think that's an 18....looks like a 7 to the left of the crown.....don't see any real lion though.....

That cleaned it up quite a bit, thanks!!! The lion is definitely the hardest part to make out but pretty sure that’s what the rightmost mark is.

I have a thimble I purchased after seller claimed it was tested as 14k. This reminded me I better test it soon and make sure it is. No marks on that one I can see other than the thimble size.
