Can anyone help me with the age of this spool cabinet. It's a bit rough around the edges but at least to me appears to be original. An approximate value would also be a help, deciding to keep or sell as it was an attic find don't have anything in it.

    Thanks in advance.

Since much of the finish is gone, would just going over it with some linseed oil hurt or help.

Linseed oil is a big mistake; linseed oil will make it turn dark and will crack what's left of the original finish sooner or later. I'd just dust it and call it solved.

    Hi,
It would be looking a lot better with a good coat of paste wax like carnauba. The cheapest carnauba will be in an expensive shoe wax. I like Kiwi since it is the easiest to apply and buff. It also comes in several different colors for darker wood I like natural or clear.

Thanks for the info, just a good waxing then it is.

Any ideas on age or value.

Condition doesn't look to bad compared to some I've seen. I've seen a few two drawer Clark's in antique malls and they seem to be priced in the $200-300 range, if they sell at that price is another matter however.
