Ideas needed please

Eh, doesn't appear to have any great age to me, either - and personally, see little point in speculating as to its origin or materials without clear images...

I agree OBB; however, the mark on the right resembles an Eqyptian date letter used from 1941 to 1982, a character with 1 or 2 dots above it. I haven't a guess to the mark on the left. I have tried to make it out as an upside down lotus blossum, but no luck.

With only 2 marks does eliminate Egypt because of the lack of a 3rd mark for the town. Do wish the OP, original poster, could "rev up" the macro setting on her camera to get better pics of these marks and to see the marks on the end of the other wing tip.

Sadly I've tried all the functions and can't get clear photos much closer up than that...The camera won't focus that close

 

It is possible to take a high definition picture from further away, and then crop and zoom the important part. This is a digitral zoom and if the camera is steady enough when taking the picture it can be enlarged until the pixel count matches the usual screen resolution. Normally there is more detail in a digital image than is needed at screen definition. Resizing loses that extra detail, but cropping the image to the vital part and enlarging is like a digital magnifying glass.

The image must be perfectly in focus and the camera shake free The answer is simply plenty of light.
