Whilst clearing out drawers today, I found this pin badge I have googled a little bit and found this on Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Komsomol but have not found the same badge.
Any ideas? I don't mind if you tell me it came out of a Christmas cracker !

This is the Membership badge but I am not sure about the rest.

(I believe the organization started within the confines of a Christmas cracker, but I cannot verify that)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If I were you I would use a Russian keyboard (here is one) https://russian.typeit.org/ -- and would type in the words around the edge. The phrase or sentence starts at the lower left, with the word за -- Then use an online translator to see what it says.

Or you could wait to see if one of our native Russian speakers drops by. There are a few.

There are thousands of these in the UK.

When I was a kid I lived near the docks and lots of Soviet cargo ships used to enter port along with East German and Polish ships .

The crews came ashore and had football tournaments against each other on my school pitches.

We used to play against them occasionally and they gave us many of these patriotic communist badges and Russian cigarettes.

When I was around 15, I had a collection of over 200 of these badges, as did every other kid in my street.:hilarious::hilarious:

It might be one of mine
There are lots of ports around the south east as there are all over our island, maybe it was what some kid just like me, who got it off a Russian sailor.

I did not know it at the time the reason why these seamen were always followed by a couple of guys wearing cheap suits and sunglasses.

I later learned it was Special Branch:D

I was shocked when I saw all these commies walking around and wearing those cheap USSR pocket watches with locomotives on the lid. some even had Russian matches and all kind of stuff. later it was clear that the revolution was only Punk...
