I've been pretty confused about the difference between offset lithographs and paintings. I know the original is in Russia, but this one felt like a real painting and its on canvas but I was told it is an offset lithograph. Does anyone know what type this artwork really is?

With modern printing techniques, a picture can be printed on pretty much any surface. It's not difficult to add an overcoat that will retain enough texture to mimic brushstrokes.

Agree that this is a print with a textured coating applied over it. They try to mimic the brush strokes of the original painting to some degree but are never exact.

Leningrad went back to being St Petersburg in 1991, so there's that. And Picasso was born in 1881.

Syroco churned out all kinds of decorative stuff, I suspect yours was probably purchased at a department store or decorator shop. Probably offset lithography with some texture added or maybe a technique I am not familiar with.
