Here just what you want Antique Victorian English Gilded Sterling Silver Glass Liquor Whiskey Hip Flask https://ebay.to/2SYwLAo
I replied to Samolu but for some reason I don't see my reply - in any manner, I looked ebay over but found nothing in my price range??? I do have a Filson flask but it's not sterling silver. I'm located in the USA, upper midwest - looking for pint size or a tad smaller - just sterling silver with a cap that doesn't leak - don't want any glass, as it will be used mainly in fishing & hunting camps and glass just may not make it through many seasons. Some real ole timers leak a bit and refurbishing them is either costly or a PITA, maybe both. I doubt I'll find anything at a modest price, but I keep looking.
It's an easy matter to replace an old cork inside the cap......it's harder to find that modest price...! ( u may have written something and not hit Post....that can happen..)
You're probably right. $500.00 doesn't get far these days and the War Department keeps tabs, which makes it really difficult to justify spending that kind of money on whiskey related projects/items - she well knows BS when she hears it.
Ya, my darling little lady has earned that handle over the past 54 years - as you can tell, I was born married.
When you say pint size ...u mean.... In the United States, a pint is 16 US fluid ounces (473 ml). However, the typical conical "pint" glass holds 16 oz. to its rim. Right ?? These are 2 1/4 & 2 3/4 inches tall........way too small for your needs....Right ?
Hmmm 2¾" goodness that sounds tiny! Out of curiosity I just measured my 5½" hip flask and it holds 12 oz (3/4 pint).
When I was doing some trucking a few years back I always took water with me. I hated the taste of plastic and metalic containers so I bought two unbreakable glass bottles with silicone grips. They hold a litre of liquid, that's about 1.7 UK pints each I dropped them several times without breakage or leaking. I still use them today when working. Two litres of whisky, you won't catch many fish
