What do you call this 1919 rug-like cover? Also any Harvard U connection?

What do you call this type of thing? Keywords? Seems handmade.

I realize it is a Latin phrase meaning "Truth". Do you think it has any connection to Harvard University?? Seems to have been the Harvard motto when shown in a red triangle.

Final ques, any guesses what would this have gone on, a pillow? It is not evenly round. Approx 16" across top 18" lower down and 17" top to bottom.

All thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

 

Actually, it may be used for just where you have it...perhaps a chair seat cover?

That is a version the Harvard University crest. Agree that it's a chair seat pad. Does look vintage.

So correct to list as a "Hand hooked seat chair cover"? (Will mention the Harvard of course somewhere.)

It seems to be handmade so not sure whether it would have been sold in a bookstore, or?? It feels older. Was not even ruling out that it might have been created in the date shown, 1919.

And I just noticed the seat cover does have a wreath.

And in 1919 they were declared the national football champions and won the Rose Bowl, 7-6. Not sure whether this has anything to do with it. Or maybe it belonged to a 1919 graduate?

 

Getting convinced of the Harvard connection. Hopefully makes this more of a collectible!

Will look into the football of that year -- when listing wouldn't hurt to mention that "this was also the year they were declared the national football champions at the Rose Bowl". Thank you. I'll also look into it further.

 

1919 doesn't seem to be a special Harvard date. I'd think a Class of item. Harvard Crimson (Athletics not student newspaper) seems to use a letter crest. Does appear to be handmade. Here's the same logo being used in 1927. Bet sized to fit The Original Harvard Chair. Value is in vintage Harvard University collectible.

Komokwa, I remember that you liked my ping pong table. It is actually in an unheated sun room, so somewhat seasonal, off season the surface can be a huge magnet for my destined for Ebay finds. (I'll just set this here for a minute...) If I'm not careful, the whole table gets covered. I'm always careful with the surface, though.
