Best places to sell extra antiques

I have a lot of antiques I need to get rid of cause my house has no more space left. Is sotheby's auction the place of choice?

If Sothebys will take them they might be a good bet. Be aware that they don't take much under 10K in value. It really depends on what you have.

No expert in Asian ceramics so can't help with those. Your brass foo dog looks to be a modern reproduction based on what I can see of the quality of the casting. This will bump you to the top for others to see. Be aware that folks will want to see the bottoms and, perhaps, some other pics of the ceramics.

 

You can always go to the website and look for the specialist in each category you have, and send them a few photos. Also, Christie's will do the same. I've dealt with both and they won't waste your time, or theirs and will get back to you right away. If you have books or any kind of paper antiques, check with Swann's
