Picked up a few glasses. Think they are EAPG. The tall one has a thumbprint design with long oval panels on the bottom. Also has a good amount of wear on the foot which tells me its old. The other has a diamond pattern. Any idea on maker or pattern name?

I'm certain you're aware your glass is pressed, and lack of bubbles tell me it's new. I just started looking, I'll edit this comment as I go, so be on the lookout for updates. Lucky for us, there's an entire encyclopedia devoted to patterns, companies, and a contact I am not going to use just yet.

@kraftblue , I found your second glass in McCain's Pattern Glass listed as Stippled Dart and Balls ... unknown maker ... circa 1890.

Thanks Quirky. Have already went thru my 2 books and some images online.

The first one has no seam and indicates it was blown. But that doesn't mean too much.

I suspected Fenton. Your pattern is not a thumbprint, it's an optical dot. Here is one of my sources. Fenton was known for decorative crazy glasses, but they started simple.

I'll keep looking. But they're the best match.

When I said blown I actually meant at least a pontil rod. I think the mold was placed over it afterwards. But Fenton was the first. I'm still looking.

@kraftblue Your first glass may be an ale glass ... how tall is it? I cannot see any mold marks from your photos ... do you see any in person? How is the bottom of the foot finished? Can you tell if the printies (thumbprints) and flutes are cut or molded in the glass?

I'm wondering if this might not be American (is there EEPG - Early English Pattern Glass? haha).... Hopefully one of the glass gurus will step in and help with your ID of this.

Scare, the 1st glass has 4 seams. Stands 7 3/8" tall

Sorry, I couldn't see them. I saw the company with four seams, I believe it was EAPG. hold on

Please dont' get carried away with how many mold joints/seams there are. First of all, both pressed and blown molds have joints/seams. Second, the number of joints in a mold is dependent on how the mold would open without scraping the design of the glass, not on who made it or how old it is. Nothing about age, manufacturer or value can be determined by number of joints/seams in a piece of glass.

You're right. This wasn't a lost cause until http://glassloversglassdatabase.com/ malfunctioned. And the rest want me to pay. I'll try them one more time but it's just a lost cause.

I take that back. They have acclaimed patterns, they kinda sell em now. So this might be a long day for someone. Doing a "find on page" for "dot" is out of the question. I found one close match under "thumbprint". But I've been doing other things. It let me in
    And I bookmarked it
The light is in reach...until you see all the obscure pattern choices we get....well I luv ya so I'll help
I believe the match was under long stemmed thumbprint

Thanks Scare but I am not finding anything even close under thumbprint

Well, idk but I tried Polka, dot, thumbprint (which Fenton had the closest match but it was colored), optic, and now I'm trying random stuff. Yours is more dot or circle with bead stem, so....imma try bead you try something

Thanks Scare, close but not exact. My glass just has dots. I am not in a hurry to do anything with it.

    • Me either. I stopped looking about 11 hours ago.
    • If you think that's bad, you should locate your table. There is no index.

Ok. That chick had an incomplete database but it's all I have. I asked her what's up on it.
