New Jade ban on ebay

Or should I say, a new ban on all jade.

Briefly, it seems an embargo on goods from Burma, including jade and rubies, is being interpreted with the usual ebay precision that they applied to Cuban items. Or Ivory soap.

Typically, this is being done at a time when Burma is getting much freer, and should be encouraged, not sanctioned.

 

WOW, I didn't know about this latest ban??? What next???

Interesting articles, and much as I thought. It seems that as usual, ebay has done too much, much too late.

 

It is said that the CEO's wife is on a US government sanctions commitee and these ebay bans come from her, possibly to show 'Something is being done'.

Since no one really cares they give the job to the work experience kid.

 

I wonder how many ebay registered sellers there are in Myanmar
