Featured I probably sound like a broken record....

    A quick post tonight, because I honestly get concerned that I sound like a broken record on the forum. Just a friendly reminder so anyone doesn't think I'm the luckiest son of a gun on the planet (I will admit I'm pretty lucky)....I search a LOT. I look at hundreds of listings before I find even one tiny bit of silver. But it's the act of searching all the time, and following my intuition that leads to these scores. For this particular find, I had one photo to work with, and the price was low enough and experience led me to buy it without any additional information. Here's the photo I had to work with:

    Here's the stuff in the box that was junk/plated:

    From top left to bottom right:

    Gorham Sterling 760 candle snuffer
    12 piece set of Towle sterling silver flutes
    Knife and spoon Frigast Sterling Denmark
    *ignore the top butter knife, not marked, lower butter knife is reed & barton sterling
    Round spoon above the pie server is Weidlich sterling
    Pie server is marked 800 with crescent moon, crown and F. Reirftant
    The bent spoon and small fork are also Weidlich sterling

    Weight of all items excluding the plated butter knife, the weighted knives, and the candle snuffer = 486 grams. Not a bad score for $30. Let me know if you want to see the marks of any of them. And for the really sharp eyes that are wondering where that rectangular case is that's shown in the original photo...it wasn't in the case when i bought it; oh well ;)

    Nate .. I'll speak for myself, I LOVE seeing all of your wonderful buys .. and I'm sure that everyone else does too. When you polish them all up and we get to see the true beauty of the items is pleasing in itself. I know that you work hard to find all of these lovely things and it's a joy when you share them with us ,, Love Joy. :)
