Help in the ID of a painting

    Does anyone have any idea about the artist of this painting? No signature on it.

    Are small children's heads really that large?

    The style is early to mid 19th C, but I don't know if it is period.

    An awful lot of these portraits were done by itinerant painters whose names are long forgotten, assuming it was done in the timeframe AF referred to. They are almost never signed.

    Its like a grown mans face on a childs body ! The chair makes me think its later , photography pretty much rendered this type of paintings moot .
