I was going through my collection today when I came across a framed picture I own (the first pic - I named him Henry). I slide the back of the frame off to see if there was a name or date written on the back when I saw another face on the back! It definitely isn't intentional - probably the result of improper storage and stacking pictures on one another or something. Still thought it was cool and wanted to share! Henry.jpg Henry?.jpg

It's his mother watching over her boy;)

    It is rather strange though.

Probably one side was used and it did not come out very well so they reused the other side of the paper.

That is creepy ! Heres my weird picture story , if one is inclined to be superstitious (and I am :) ) ...back in the mid 90s my partner and I had moved to Orlando for a great job . We found an awesome apartment wich was the mother in law suite of a house that was right on a gorgeous ravine. That yard was spectacular ,complete with a family of raccoons that were ridiculously tame . Anyhoo , we had been there a few months and things were going splendidly ,then one weekend I buy this print at a yard sale (mainly for the frame) .
One day I decide to take it apart and clean it and I find a picture of a very good looking turn of the century gent tucked behind. I was pretty stoked but my partner didnt like it ,claimed it gave him the heebee jeebies . Since my taste was always better than his ( so I claimed) I didnt listen and hung it up .
ALL of a sudden things started going horribly wrong . Our car ,wich was fine, broke down ,the job we had moved there for laid my partner off,the landlord comes and tells us the house was being sold ,my partner breaks his wrist, etc, etc. I mean it was one bad thing after the other !
A friend comes over during all this drama and she hadnt seen the picture before, walks in,looks at it and declares "That guy was evil ,you should get rid of that " . I of course scoffed , but the idea was planted . A week or two later , as things are looking grim , out of desperation I take the picture down , carry it to the barbecue and burn it,frame and all .
I SWEAR to you almost immediately things completely turn around ! The car wich we thought needed expensive repairs turns out to only need a $50 part, the landlord stops by and says the house wasnt being sold after all , the job calls my partner back ,a complete 180 from the week before ! Probably coincidence , but Ive always thought objects can be infused with negative karma so ... Draw your own conclusions . :)

Nice post!!! Henry is lovely! I find the ghost woman very beautiful too, I'd try to get a photographer work on her to get a good picture to frame:woot:

Woahh, Johnny! That sounds too much for being only a coincidence:nailbiting:
    You did well burning him:vamp::)
I believe too that objects have a Karma... Happily, I only have good intentioned pieces (or... I AM THEIR BAD KARMA:joyful:). Many times when hunting in large fairs, I went straight in a booth, plunge in cardboard box hidden under other stuff and found a piece that, I'm sure, called me:blackalien::)

I have this picture called The Gilmour Wedding (I've shown it previously):
    z-gilmour-a.jpg

The thing is, that photo was pasted to a card over top of another photo:
    z-gilmour-b.jpg

It makes me crazy wondering what that other photo shows.

That is so wild! I've always been very cautious when it comes to handling my objects and such. Always thanked them for letting me look/read - which is very superstitious but better safe than sorry!

I think photographic papers usually have a light sensitive emulsion only on one side, and are not reversible. So the transfer was probably accidental.

I was going to say the same as 2manybooks
They would have put silver emulsion on one side only.

Your conclusions sound pretty bang on......bad juju, evil spirit......that guy was tucked away...& you let him out....
Maybe he was at peace and you disturbed him......
After many years...I took photo's of my African mask.....& still I've never shown them to anyone...:wideyed::wideyed::wideyed:

Time to tell the story again......

One day on my way home I stopped in at an antique / 2nd hand store not far away. It was a strange place. I looked around , engaged the owner on a couple of items he wanted too much for, and was ready to leave , when I felt it.

Some thing was pulling me to check out an old multi door book case. There was no light on it & the room was not well lit to begin with, so I got up close and starting at the top and checked shelf by shelf until I was on my knees , bent over, pushing other things out of the way , trying to look in the bottom shelf. I couldn't really see anything , just piled up stuff....until I noticed some woven fibers coming from the very back.
By now I'm almost laying on the floor , pushing stuff out of my way to get to very back of the very bottom & grabbing at the mass of fibers .I pull on them and out comes a small dusty cobweb laden african portrait mask . Once in my hand...I can't let go of it. It's a little beat up & hard to really see , and I figure I don't really need it , & I want to put it back , but I can't.
I'm on all 4's on a dirty cold floor , and thinking to myself, "what am I doing here?", but I pull it out ,dust it off and stand up .
It's not terribly pretty, and the woven fibers making a basket weave like headdress are dry and shedding in my hands .....and still I can't put it down, so I ask the owner about. He knows nothing....like he'd forgotten it was even there , or never knew it was there & he put's a $40 price on it. I paid him , & left.

On the way home I'm feeling pretty good that I'd found it and bought it , and that it did not deserve to be where it was, and that I'd somehow freed it from being cast off and hidden away......but I can't shake the feeling that it wanted me to find it....& led me to where it was being held.

    Part two ....soon !
