Interesting resemblance (minus head) to the Venus De Milo

Not sure, but I think it might be made of alabaster.

    Hi,
You can check to see if alabaster or marble. On the bottom make a fresh scratch, drop on a drop of white vinegar. If it fizzes it is marble if nada it's alabaster. Marble is calcium carbonate, thus the fizz, Alabaster is calcium sulfate.

Thanks for the input. Its definitely marble with a weathered, course-sandpaper texture. I wasn't sure if the texture could be an indicator of the age. it's been outside.

Any ideas on how to determine age or origin?
