Does anyone have any information about these? I am not sure if they are barn doors or not. They measure 5 feet by 3 feet. They are three inches thick, solid wood.

There is a photo of them in the furniture gallery. It wouldn't let me upload a file here.

You were probably trying to upload too large a file.

Resize to about 200 kbytes and try again.

The value of your doors may be limited to a local market as I imagine they are really heavy.

If you watch the HGTV shows where they remodel homes barn doors are the newest "thing". They use them as doors from room to room & also as doors to pantries. I would think Craig's List or a pick-up only on ebay would be the way to go with these.

Peggy, every single time I see those doors inside a house, I cringe! Do they not know how HARD opening barn doors can become, over time?

The look, too, makes absolutely no sense to me in those "modern spaces"...

(So now, if someone says, "What, were you raised in a BARN?" the kids from these homes can answer, "I think so..."?)

    Hi,
They look like teak hatch covers from a ship.

I agree, they are often made into coffee tables

I could not agree more. The only time I even watch them is when a friend comes over for dinner. My DH & her both watch them all the time. He will turn it on after we have eaten & cleaned up after dinner.

I can't wait until football starts in a few weeks!!! ;):p:p:D:D

I stayed in a hotel in Atlanta a couple years ago that had a "sliding" barn door between the sleeping area and the bathroom. Weird.

@Panamashelby - They were popular in the 70's. That's when I had mine. I really don't know how old it was then or how old yours is now. For all I know, someone might be making them up out of old wood leftovers as we speak.

The flush handles and the 'height'make no sense for a door but would suit a hatch cover, They would be held closed by battens, as in 'batten down the hatches'

As usual, the birthday boy is right. Congrat's.

I had one of those as a coffee table in the family room. Not too heavy to move a few feet to vacuum.
Three feet is a bit short for a door in the house.
