Only 127? Our annual Garage Sale Day had well over 300 this year. And that was just the ones who signed up in time for the publication of the map. Many others just put out a sign.

Maybe I missed the point of the story, since the site wouldn't let me read it without telling them how many pairs of jeans I buy.

I've been to a few of the early Junk Jaunt sales in Nebraska, found some incredible things. There is over 500 registered vendors but the speed limit doesn't allow one to hit them all in 3 days.

One day I hope to get to one of these kind of sales and live it up.
First I need to win the lottery.

This year the heat and humidity is worse than normal here in Southern Ohio. We are about 5 miles from US 127. I made some stops yesterday without much luck. Usually, I go to small towns North of here and look for Church Sales.

A friend told me the Board of Health closed down a Church Food Stand until they purchased a $76.00 permit. She also said it seemed to her that there were more vendors in her area.

It is like a large neighborhood sale. A lot of junk, some good things, high prices. However, I have found some good items at good prices.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

The 127 yard sale is the world’s longest yard sale as it stretches more than 690 miles from Addison, Michigan, to Gadsden, Alabama. The sale involves thousands of vendors each year including here in Van Wert County. The sale began nearly 30 years ago in 1987, but this is Van Wert’s 10th year of involvement with the sale.
    It's along route 127, that's all......

    Hi,
I went to the sale several years ago. Spent three days of shear bliss. Spent hundreds on horrible motels but only got to do maybe 75 miles before I ran out of storage space and money. It reminded me of the time I went to Canada for a long weekend of yard sales. When I was coming back at the border, the guards came out and my car was packed with boxes and bags. The guards started to look through my bags and there would be perhaps two saucers an ashtray and 6 drinking glasses. An another box had three sheets 5 toys and a stuffed alligator. After a few more minutes I catch the guard twirling his finder around his ear like I was nuts. They then let me through.

    Greg -

Many long years ago, my husband had a 3-month long assignment in Okinawa. (He was NOT military...)

I went to visit him in the middle of his assignment.

Since he was working, I had lots of time on my hands, and I spent an awful lot of it walking the beaches, picking up cool shells as I went. (I spent a lot of time talking with poor homesick soldiers, too - but that's a story for another day)

Anyway, for whatever reason (boredom, probably!) I sorted the shells by type & put them in a couple of egg cartons to take home.

I will NEVER forget the guards at Narita Airport, going thru my bags and GIGGLING over my little packets of shells, so neatly packed into the individual compartments of my egg cartons.

Each one of them called over another, until there were a full dozen men chattering among themselves & laughing at my seashells, looking at me as if I were nuts.

I was mortified - but I still have all of those shells (even if they are all mixed together in a tall glass jar!)

This goes right through where my son is in TN.
My DIL has been poking around it.
She loves when I'm there because no one else wants to do such things.

I know several people who sold and bought there.
The ones who sold I know their prices were retail and probably then some, the ones who bought said there were some deals to be found, but a lot of it was vendors asking retail.

Id like to go, but I don't think I could justify the expenses of gas, lodging, time, and inventory
