Hi, got this book off a house clearance today. Does it look original ? And does anyone what auction value it would go for?.
If seen some for 30-40 and some 400.

Don't know what you mean by "original." This was France's first work, originally published in 1879. Yours is a (much later) inexpensive softback reprint with the previous owner's name scrawled across the cover. In my personal opinion, it's unsalable because 1) not a rare book, 2) a much later edition, and 3) condition.

There is one equivalent listed on a booking selling site. Keep in mind that $13.70 is asking price, not sales price.
