Handmade Gold Fish Pendant PLZ HELP

Hello, I'm new to the community. Yesterday, i bought this pendant. The dealer said it was handmade and antique, but had could not tell me the age of the piece. Any ideas?
It is stamped "14K-A.C". And is this a desirable piece?

 

Larger photos and a photo of the backside would help.It appears to be articulated.

 

It is Articulated!!!!!! im unable to give back photo because my camera died :/ But it looks exactly the same on the other side without the carving of the karat and name..... IT is 3d. Paid 300 for it.

 

The pins (which are permanently closed at each end) allow the fish to move freely. I wonder what age it is and if its worth that 300 price i paid for it. I think its solid 14k gold but not sure. Any help is appreciated!!!!!!

 

The fish appears to be cast,handmade is an arbitrary term and cast items normally aren't included.Unless someone can say who made it,it is impossible to date .The lack of good finish on the surface tends to lower the quality.

 

I only dabble in jewelry, but... this is striking! And what fun to wear.

IF you had to appraise it, what would u say it would be worth? I believe the rubies are real. Im still curious about the date. I just found a jeweler named "A.C Jewelers" in Rhode Island and i emailed them asking about if they ever made this piece. Hopefully they can tell me more about this.

There are many of these articulated gold fish charms out there. As there are so many of these, I doubt that yours is hand made. Following is Googles images of many of them.

Even if the rubies are real......they are tiny jewelry rubies...and of little value,

I have no idea. It is impossible for me to tell if a gem is authentic or not from pictures. You might try a jeweler for a freebie opinion on the stones. Now, if this is really 14 Kt then there probably more of a chance they are authentic???

Wildly overpaid, imo.

 

The fish is 1.75 inches in length. I do not have a scale, but when i feel in my hand compared to a one ounce coin, it feels like 1/3 of it. I have never seen anything like it. What do you think its worth?

 

And no. Its not 300 retail. I went to a local jewelery exchange. They had this fish in the back when I asked to see ALL of there inventory of pendants. It was originally 300 but got it down to around 275 actually. Just looked at my receipt. sorry about that.

They're on eBay, Etsy, websites....and all over google and Pinterest.

You should have done a major search before buying something.." you've never seen before" .

That said prices are all over the board , & while I feel you paid more than you should have for such a common item, I don't think you gave away the farm.

Use this as a learning experience ...& next time do your homework before shelling out your hard earned money , & you'll be happy you did !
