New to the Game

    I’m here as a new antiquer of sorts. I have always collected and adored antique furniture but I have recently jumped head first into the world of restoration! I am here to make contacts, gather advice and inspiration and get assistance from fellow lovers of all that is vintage.

    I’m not 100% positive but my current piece is a French provincial sewing table that I bought from a woman who said it was about 10 years old when she received it from her sister in 1954.

    Welcome to the forums! Great time to be in the market for vintage furniture, there is a lot of it out there for rock bottom prices currently if you know where to look.

    Then that would be ....Vintage 1944 ., or Circa 1944.....
    but without the date the word vintage ...don't mean nuthin...

    Post it on the Furniture Forum so we can all see it !!!!!!

    Always.........ALWAYS....take that ...with a grain of salt......cuz it don't mean it's true......

    Not a fan of MCM myself personally and nobody would shed a tear if all the IKEA crap disappeared tomorrow. But there is lots of decent quality solid wood furniture out there at estate sales and such which is not perhaps collectable but very useful for everyday life.
