Hi. We are moving cross country and into a very contemporary new house. Need to sell my beloved antique cabinet. It was given to me by a friend in the 1970s. I never really knew what it actually is, how old it is, or what style it is. It has three shelves inside and a drawer below that pulls out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance! IMG_9822.jpg IMG_9823.JPG

Can you open the doors so we can see the inside? Thanks.

Hard to say exactly what this is. Might just be considered a dining room hutch of some kind but could be used most anywhere. There were radio cabinets configured as such but yours does not seem to be one. Dates to the 20s and seems to be pretty nice quality and condition. Can't tell the wood from these pics but likely walnut or mahogany veneers with solids. Value really is dependent on selling location and venue. Here in semi-rural Midwest, this would probably sell for under $150.00 at auction and under $300.00 at retail (I might be a bit generous here but it is nicer than many). You might do better in big cities or other locations.

Theres no reason it wouldnt blend in with a contemporary home . You just have to find the right place for it . It sounds like you really love it , dont regret getting rid of it later . I had a simple pine sideboard Id had for 20 years , then I decided to change everything and gave it away ,I STILL regret it 10 years later ! :)

I considered taking it. It really isn't because of the style, but sadly there is nowhere for it to fit in the new home.
