I'm kind of kicking myself for passing this piece up, which is now a several hours drive away from my home. Part of the reason I passed it up is because it had a rectanglar shaped sticker residue mark on the bottom (which I thought had been from a modern label). Anyways since then, I am now trying to research it to determine the maker and age. The signature to art work alone should have told me that it isn't a mass produced piece. I believe the signature is Chinese and the technique used in making this piece is called "wireless cloisonne". I had never heard of wireless cloisonne before starting my research. Any help with translating this mark or determining the age is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

It looks like a Japanese girl playing a yokobue, and I'd say it was enamel painted and fired on white enamel, in a similar method to British Bilston enamels. The green contra-enamelling on the back certainly indicates some form of fired enamel.
The script looks more Japanese than Chinese but I am illiterate in both.

BTW, welcome to the antiquers board.

I do not believe this is wireless cloisonne, which was a Japanese process.

    Simply, an enamel plate/tray.
    I think Chinese, not Japanese.
Not very old. As in 1980s and later.

Only a guess, wait for other opinions.

By the way, I'm glad you have made it over here. You always find interesting items. Glad to have you here.
