Chinese Porcelain Plate Dragonware?

    This plate measures 10" across. Has a raised dragon in the center. The green decorated border is also raised. Plate has weaving. Interesting foot, looks a little rounded. No marks. Any idea on time frame?

    I'd like to learn the function or decorative use of that woven frame. I'm very curious about that.

    I think the woven frame is decorative. It's very fragile. I have a wall pocket with a similar weaving but very little of the weaving is left. I'd place the time frame between the world wars although I never got confirmation. Japan is much more likely than China. IMHO this could be classified as dragonware. It's a cool piece.

    Agree with Don, looks Japanese to me too, usually see that decorative woven bamboo on Awaji pottery (though much was removed)...
