Thank you for the info, I'll join coin talk shortly. Alas I've only received a bit of info on my tea cups, but it's only the first day. I will not give up hope to find more info on them.
Is the coin community also part of the coin talk site or is there a link to is. I'd love to get some additions to my large cents collection. I also have plenty of uncirculated, consecutive notes I'd like to find their worths.
    Thanks again

I just bought a single cup Melitta holder because my beloved two-cup Chemex was murdered by my kitchen faucet this morning.(sigh) At least the Melitta is plastic.

I bought a beautiful transferware plate today but dropped it before I got home. It broke and I left it in a trash bin. Oh well... as Walter Huston once said, "Money is for throwing off trains".

Just imagine a beautiful transferware plate, and it looked like that.

Was it as beautiful as this one? Oh, and I've been lucky enough to not break it yet, even though I've had it for months :D Sorry for your loss, however.

Just recovered this from the attic of a house clearance.

Before washing machines this was known as "The Copper" its a galvanised copper water boiler for laundering clothes.
    Bakelite plug and tap handle.

I don`t know who put it up there but it sure took some effort to get it out.
This model is from the late 40`s early 50`s.
I can just remember my mother using a similar one in 1960 until she bought a twintub washer.

If it doesn`t sell I`ll scrap it.

    Boiling wine????
No. Just a different way to store them.
Someone may pay much more than that.
Yuu can always scrap it if you can't get 2-3 times the value...

Hope you don't have to scrap 'The Copper' Dave, it is a very cool looking piece.

    I'm glad he has a name :D

@daveydempsey could spruce him up and make him into an industrial style table. Take Copper's lid off and replace it with a fitting round glass. Then the inside can be filled with something. Lights, for instance.

(That was just a pathetic idea because I felt sorry for Copper)

My silent motto is: As long as the item is not mine to store, it has feelings and should be considered a sentient being. ;)
It's entertaining to watch people deal with loads of junk. Not that your fine Copper specimen is junk.. ;)

I have a weird sense of humour

I've only ever seen one similar on this side of the pond.

The copper was just a plating on steel.

It would make a heckuva cookie (biscuit to you Brits) or other mouse-bait storage tank, for anyone in a rural area. It would keep the moths out of the wool too. Poor Copper deserves better than landing on the scrap heap.
