Featured French cast iron chandelier advice

    The one I saw on eBay had same fittings and is 1950's...the price tag is £1,100

    Looks like a wrought iron chandelier with some cast accent pieces attached to it.
    I found one in a similar style but this one was made in early 2000's

    Not sure but I think it's too heavy to be wrought iron, it ways a tonne. also I have seen wiring like this on table lamps that fits with the 1950,s era.

    Maybe need to take it to a specialist as this is way out of my knowledge. Lol.

    True, your chandelier's metal looks very thick. Almost like it was metal worked - but not cast. That would be a nightmare for the pattern maker to build a pattern to cast that in foundry. I would say made out of steel bar stock.

    We don't consider 1950s very old around here. Could indeed be that old or newer. As such, the value is for its use. Doesn't really have any collectible/antique value. Can be compared to other similar fixtures from the same era. I would take the asking price of the one you found with a grain of salt. You really need to compare it to ones that have actually sold.

    This similar 6 light sold on ebay for 140 GBP. I don't think it is nearly as old as they say it is......
