Cool piece! Was the price good? This piece is fairly modern? My grandmother had a large collection and always made the trip to the Fenton store in West Virginia once a year before they closed up.

Thanks. It was $6. I'm sure I've seen a lot of Fenton, but didn't recognize it until I joined this forum.

Very pretty, what are you going to put in it?
Is the edge translucent or is it a trick of the light?

    Hi,
The rim is transparent it was made in many different colors. Some are so rare.

I found it is called by some a "plum crest ruffled candy compote", so I'll put compotes in it. :) Yes it is translucent.

Thanks for this. I have been looking in the online Fenton catalogs for this, but haven't seen in yet. I'm assuming Debbie Cutshaw means newer?

You may be able to tell from the oval Fenton mark when it was made. They were, if I am remembering correctly, adding numbers which would correspond to the year it was made.

I've always said I can wear any shoe ever made, as long as I'm sitting in a wheelchair. These days I wear a lot of sneakers, not wanting to use a wheelchair one second earlier than necessary.

I have reached the age where I buy shoes for comfort rather than fashion. We have had 3 euros worth of fun from those shoes.

I found the Oval. It says Fenton and underneath a very small 0 which I understand puts it into the 2000-2009 range, as it is marked by decade according to Fenton Fanatics. Thank you for your help. Now to look at the catalogs.

That's a pretty good buy. (LOL) I went out to two estate sales at Way Too Early and Too Darned Cold AM, and spent ... $3. You got a better deal on the shoes.

Couple of Morgan Dollars from the local coin shop. From the $20 each bin with about 40 Morgans to chose from. You have to dig for decent coins since most are cleaned, damaged, or just plain ugly for that price. They also had a bin of 1921 Morgans for $17 each and Peace Dollars for $18 each.

I fell in love with the image on the top of this Halcyon Days enameled box. I am likely going to sell this box, but I do think I am going to get a print of this painting.:happy:

Rueven Frosted Champagne Flutes. From his website - "After etching the glass, I hand-paint gold, silver and other luster colors on to the glass. I then fire each piece so that the colors melt into the glass creating "art glass.""

thought this was quite sweet for a pound, not exactly fine art but like the idea of it

were these hand painted postcards quite commonplace back then ?

Recent finds: 947DE42C-72FA-4518-8C97-9B94282FB818.jpeg I’ve posted the circular cameo in the cameo forum and created a separate thread for the small gold and coral rose ring. The necklace is coral bits and whitby jet. The earrings are enamel on gold washed silver, tiny seed pearls. Black glass cameo, looks and feels like pate de verre. The hand has a long piece in the back for mounting on a wall. Tiny silver picture frame and more assorted rings.

a center in the jasperware style

8D583308-2ED1-49CC-AA99-F771391458C7.jpeg Last one, this one makes me nervous as the only support on the ring is a thin cross along the back. :nailbiting:
