Featured Gold + Coral ring/Help with Marks

It does, but it is off centre and about a millimeter deep, so definitely not all the way through. Since it is off centre, it is just a way of showing the heart of the rose.
No sign there ever was a diamond either.
I washed the ring and took out some dirt with a wooden cocktail stick, but I see I have to take a soft brush to it too. So apologies for showing you a dirty picture.

 

How cute! Love its little self in the setting, now I’ll be on the lookout for one like it.

 

The coral rose with a hole in the heart( ) seems to be an old theme. This is one of my mystery brooches, artisan silver with a giant coral rose. There is a stamen-like curled pin through the hole to fasten it to the brooch. The rose can twist on the pin.

 

Wow. I wonder if the theme was supposed to be romantic? Roses tend to be but there’s something almost melancholy in these designs to me.
