Six bucks at the local Ill Will. It's definitely an autowinder as advertised, and except for the missing crown it seems to work fine. The stainless band has the Cartier name inside too. The crystal is a replacement for sure.

Probably have to see the movement

The stainless back does not appear to be stainless

That's one thing that had me wondering. On the other hand, my late father killed watches; his skin acid reacted in funny ways with metals. I know someone locally who can take a look at it. It would be odd for it to be a fake; the faulex crowd doesn't tend toward autowinders.

Looks duff to me. But modernish wristwatches are not my strong suit.

    Hi Evelyb,
Do NOT do what I did. A friend mailed me a Cartier watch
to have it cleaned and repaired. He lived in the boondocks and I lived in Manhattan. I took it to Cartier and asked them to clean and repair. The clerk looked at it, took the back off and picking up a heavy bar smashed it. I almost stoked out but he said it was a counterfit and that is what they do to fakes. My friend who was given the watch as a present was also shocked.

Can't say I blame them. That's my reaction to fakes too. Take a hammer or some krazy glue to it to make sure it doesn't keep getting passed along as a real one. I have too many friends who create for a living, and illegal copies are theft. I hate thieves.

Now if someone could only make all the "COACH" bags go away.

I used a fake Louis Vuitton as an art project once. Grabbed my fabric paint and wrote FAKE all over the outside in multiple colors. Wrote fake on the inside in sharpie. Then I donated it to a clothes closet where they give things away. I figure someone's kid ended up playing with it. As for Coach bags, I'd burn them if vinyl didn't just melt.

I don't even like genuine Coach items (most of the time.) I did fall in love with a Poppy sequin series, but it would not have been practical for me. I used to spend money on handbags when I was younger, but now I go to Ross Dress for Less and spend about $12 on a cross body handbag.

I got my latest one, I think, in a rummage sale. It's big, leather, and vintage Mexican. Threw a big leather luggage strap on it and off we went. It weighs a ton but holds what needs holding.

    I feel the same way.
