Thank you! I was at a auction the other day and there was a painting signed "j arthur thompson" and it was the same style painting like this one but different scene. I bid to 125.00 but dropped out because the ones that I saw online were signed "A thompson" so I was a little hesitant on why the signatures were different. It was signed with black paint too but thought it was odd that the one at the auction was signed " j. Arthur thompson" and not "Arthur thompson "

 

I could make joke about J. Arthur but I'll restrain myself.

 

Arthur thompson and J. Arthur thompson are two different painters

 

$500 + 20% BP so $600 in total. I hope that helps.

The painting at the auction was signed "j arthur thompson" the only artwork that was in the same style was the one in the liveauctioneer link. So I'm not sure if it was by the same person or maybe a copy. That's why I didnt go over 125.00
