Looking for help with a curious mark on Gorham flatware

    I recently purchased some Gorham Buttercup pattern sterling spoons. They have the usual Gorham marks on the back, and they appear to be stamped by the retailer they were sold out of, but they all also have this stamp on the back I haven't seen before. I wasn't even sure where to start for searching for it, has anyone seen this before or know why it's there? It's on the back of all the spoons in a set of 5:

    Which part pf the marks are you referring to? EDIT - Nevermind. I finally saw it in the last photo. Not sure.

    It looks like a trident turned 90 degrees. Did Gorham ever use one? I wouldn't be surprised if it were some sort of date mark.

    They didn't use use date marks on flatware, though.

    looks like a cactus....
    maybe they ended up in a SW pawn Shop....who marked his wares...
