3200 people stripped off naked and were painted blue and posed for photo`s at 4am this morning in my city in the name of art.

New York photographer Spencer Tunick was the organiser and photographer.
What some people will do for 5 minutes of fame baffles me, I don`t recognize anyone so anybody could have said they were there, LOL
I wouldn`t call this art at all.

The first few times he did this I found it interesting , now I just find him redundant .

There's a few names I could call it but art isn't one of them.

Wasn't it Druids who painted themselves blue and ran naked out of the forest to intimidate their enemies? This is scary.

Second favorite scene in a movie. First favorite is in the Goonies when Mama Fratelli shoves the kids out the door, leans on it and says, "Kids suck."

I was in the crowd for #3 at the LA King's hockey game but the camera shot over me as Danny came down the stairs. :(

I can't remember his name, but the man who takes the cake here is a guy who goes out into the edge of the marsh and puts a bunch of sticks in the water and the next high tide washes them away. The local Cultural Council gave him $5,000 to do this. What a scam.

My 'possible' fave of all time?
W.C. Fields in; 'The Bank Dick' when he's had enough of the little boy and going to throw a glass bottle of ketchup at him!
I was shocked and appalled as I was little too but I rolled on the floor and laughed for a week every time I thought of it!
'Stagecoach' too when the woman is beating the Indian with a broom...from a stagecoach!!!
Both SO preposterous as to tickle me nearly to death!

The one movie, kinda, thing that truly almost killed me was the cartoon before 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'!

It might have been, they used woad.
These guys were blue to represent the surrounding sea, rivers and docks.
They looked more like Smurfs to me.

There was another Provincetown artist who coated a 1950s building and sprayed it with sand. I wish I could find the photos. Installation "art" is very lucrative. I wish I could think up crazy schemes to make money.

We saw this in a California museum once and my husband thought they hadn't installed the art. When the docent told him it WAS the art, he was astounded.
