Maven, I do believe yours is antique, and could have been made in Germany.

Here is one of my rosaries, made in Schwäbisch Gmünd in southern Germany.
The silver filigree beads date from ca 1800-1840, the base metal crucifix could be slightly later, but definitely 19th century. No skull and crossbones, but the same style as yours.
The skull and crossbones symbolize Calvary, btw, the place of the skulls.
I think the black inlay on mine is gutta percha, and it looks like the inlay on yours is gutta percha too. They also used bog oak, which was found near Schwäbisch Gmünd.
The red thread means this rosary belonged to an unmarried girl. It is a short rosary, five decades (sets of 10 small beads in between larger beads).

The silver filigree rosette-shaped rosary box is also antique German, possibly also made in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

@Any Jewelry Very beautiful. And Thank You so much for all the information, so nice of you. I certainly do not doubt the antiquity of my crucifix, especially after looking at information through research, and information very kindly provided by people here as well. Again, Thank You.❤️Maven

If you want to close in on a date, I would focus on the image of Mary. For example there is a "halo" around her that is similar to but not exactly the image used for "Mary of the Immaculate Conception" (It would need to have stars around the image.) which was adopted in 1854. The symbol on the back of the crucifix is for "The League of the Sacred Heart" which was established sometime around 1800. I am curious about what is written around Mary. Is it in Latin? That could be a clue.

@Old Poet Girl ....the inscription reads...Maria Concetta Senza Peccato, which translates in English as “without sin”. Thank You for your advice, it is helpful, and greatly appreciated. ❤️Maven

So far I have uncovered an exact of that medal from the year 1854 same markings etc. I will have to do more digging around to completely verify, because the condition of mine is “immaculate”, I will look into possibly a later mid-twentieth century made, maybe 1954, possible anniversary medal, I have put out some inquiries. *otherwise the crucifix seems to be of the authentic antique era I discovered earlier, but exact year has escaped my research thus far. ❤️Maven

Interesting info, Old Poet Girl. But Maven said "The Virgin Mary medal is thought to be of newer vintage", and I agree with her.
Medals are often added to existing rosaries at a later date. In some cultures they also add other items, some southern German rosaries even had tiny vials with oil said to have come from the bones of a saint. I can't recall which one though.

@Any Jewelry Yes, agreed that the medal is definitely of newer vintage, and added somewhere down the line as is in tradition.

**I am very thankful to everyone for their very helpful input, and advice. You are all so kind. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. ❤️Maven
