Featured Singer 201 Complete Rebuild Project

    Next steps:

    1. Cut sides. Screw them to the top.

    2. Cut and add in support-blocks for the base (this machine is 30lbs on its own without the woodwork - it needs something to hold it up!)

    3. Construct drawers (which will slide out either side of the ends of the base for storage).

    4. Fit drawers.

    5. Add in hardware-y stuff. Handles. Catches. etc.

    6. Put on bottom of base.

    7. Marry top and bottom of base together. Put in drawers. Test fit.

    8. Drop in the machine.

    9. Build the lid. This will also involve recycling some (non-Singer) case-and-base locks which I salvaged from another broken machine, which I can hopefully reuse.

    10. Stain it or paint it or whatever.

    11. Put on the pretty decorative stuff.

    So...um. Yeah. Quite a ways to go.
