I picked this up this morning. Found the Sterling stamp in the thrift so figured is was worth it to find out.
It would be a first for me.
Passed the tooth test. Sorry about all the polish, in the process of cleaning it.

Since it’s sterling and the pearls are gritty on your tooth I would think that you have genuine cultured pearls. It’s very pretty.

It is a beautiful pin and yes those do appear to be genuine cultured pearls, just as reader thinks^^.

Just noticed the little lock on the catch is missing. Can it be replaced or repaired?

Would it be cost effective to have it repaired or just sell as is?

Thank you all very much. With all the things I've learned from reading posts on here I was able to purchase real Pearl's on my first purchase. Not a great score but a major accomplishment for me. I appreciate every one of you.

Were it mine, I'd have it repaired, keep it another six months, then sell it. Pearls in the States aren't particularly sought after, but I adore them and this piece is lovely.

Thank you Kathy. Any idea what the cost to repair the little safety catch thing?

Depends on where you live. I have this neighbor............... LOL If you can find someone you can barter with....trade by giving old sterling scrap, e.g., it shouldn't be anything and you'll make a friend!

My friend that has a small pawn shop does jewelry repairs. I've dealt with him a lot before but never a repair
I'll see him tomorrow. Thanks again

The only thing with pearls......so delicate. But they do resize pearl rings.
