Looks like ancient bronze tribal figure

    I have found this strange looking bronze woman figure , looks like her dress was once a bell .... any clues ?

    I think it's tourist stuff from Africa. An ancient technique, but not an ancient item.

    It's not old; the patina is all wrong. I agree - probably a nice tourist piece.

    Thank you all for the feedback.I'm from Africa and traveled this land for years .Never saw anything like this before . If this is a tourist piece they sure went through a lot of trouble to make a couple of bucks . Don't know much about patina but I find it very hard to believe this kind of ageing was faked. Anyway going to keep it I kind of like it :))

    Well then if you're from Africa you should know that every tribe has very specific designs for their cultural art work.....& if you've never seen one like it before ...that's a bad sign .......not a sigh that you've found the one and only item that has evaded the professionals all this time !! :wacky:

    I never thought that I was just wondering about its origin since I never saw features like that in any other figure I've had . Might not be african at all !

    Try the Chimu culture from South America, the spiral loops fits their motifs.
