I know this is Birmingham Silver, but am having trouble with the date and the letters on the left side. Can anyone help?

Reference book Millers Silver by John Blye is where I looked up the date. Nothing to do with the silversmiths hallmarks. I responded from my phone earlier in super coded answer. ;)

Oh!!!!!! That makes sense now, Trip. But having never heard of Millers Silver by John Bly as a silver reference book, it did not connect for me then.

It is a small book, but very handy and very easy to use. But only lists very earlier makers DSC_0229.JPG . I have it for years.

I didn’t read your code thoroughly. It makes sense in hindsight. ;)

Thanks for the tip, Trip. If I were in a place where UK silver was more common (as opposed to invisible) it would be something I would want at hand!

For some reason I run into English silver often even though I live in S. CA and Nevada. Just used it to date/attribute a couple pieces I just picked up recently.

Up here in the home of the Norwegian immigrant fishermen, I'm much more likely to find Scandi stuff.
