    Just curious if there is money in religious text other than bibles.
    I have this one....
    Compendium and Life of Swedenborg 1856 20160625_200702[1].jpg 20160625_200635[1].jpg 20160625_200623[1].jpg 20160625_200630[1].jpg
    Can't really find the value of it anywhere...

    I was thinking of donating it to the Swedenborg church in Cambridge, MA.. Would think someone there would be interested in it. I haven't found one as old as my copy yet.

    @Figtree3
    Should this be asked about on Book Think?

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Cluttered, I would say "yes" that would be a good idea. Might also ask on the eBay Booksellers group. I hate to refer people to eBay boards, but most of the regulars on that particular group are not here on this site. Some are in the BookThink site, though.

    I was told that you will have to sign up. And responses may take awhile.

    The earliest I've found is 1853. Yours is marked "third thousand", which means that 2000 copies were printed before the print run of yours. I found a couple of references to eBay auctions of the 1853 printing, but the listings were too old to view. Yours is still an early printing, but I wouldn't expect the price to be very high. Condition will make a difference.

    Religious books aren't like others. People tend to hang onto them because it seems disrespectful to toss them.

    Many are the most turgid works ever written.
    I have read a few better written 17th C ones for the insight into the time rather than any religious leaning.
