Dave, is it possible that the signature says CENTURY? (company established 1947, still in business...)

My bedroom furniture is Century, circa 1980. The burned in mark in the drawers is same as the current block letter font. The company seems to actually predates 1947 so I went looking for earlier logos - and none of the few I found are anything like this one. This initial C is much larger than others and the cross line on the T much more prominent than what I found.

It certainly looks like it should be Century, but I could not find it.

 

I thoughtvcentury too but the e actually looks like an O. I thought this piece to be either late 60's or 70's

 

Looks like Century to me. Would say this dates to the 70s.

 

Update from Century Furniture Company. "This is from our County Line collection that we ran from 1957- 1961 . The woods are Cherry solids and veneers ."

 

That's great, Dave! I love it when companies can provide info about their older lines - it seems to be a rarity these days! Must be nice to know what you have.
