Single strand Aurora Borealis (AB) rhinestone dress clip

Is this a dress clip? What is a dress clip? This is about 6” long, fully extended.

 

Sweater clip - for when it is worn just thrown over the shoulders, cape-like.

 

Looks like a sweater clip rather than a dress clip.

I agree with sweater clip. AB finish was created in 1955. It was used on rhinestones and pearls.

I wore sweater clips in grammar school in the 50's...anyone remember the long skinny rabbit fur pieces girls clipped around thir necks? The fox shaped head was on an aligator clip that clipped on to the tail,LOL

 

In the 80's a shorter clip of many styles would clip on the back of blouses.

 

I remember those fur pieces, but it never occurred to me to wonder how they were secured. I also remember the girls wearing blouses that buttoned up the back. I guess that fashion disappeared in the '60s.

 

Yes and even pants and pedal pushers either buttoned in the back or the side. It was terrible if a zipper broke on the back side . Thank goodness for the front sippers

 

Gals in the early days up to the late 60's had it rough before the seamless panty hose came out. I remember having to wear a garter belt to hold the stockings up and the endless questions...are my seams straight????
