    CONGRATS! i guess, women & jewelry, a long story there!
    OTOH, i can't stand jewelry, the sensation when it touches my skin is ICKY:vomit:
    Not even when i was in the army where wearing dog tags was MANDATORY. I would tuck the chain under my shirt collar and place the tags between my under & outer shirt.
    TAKE THAT! US Army! I win again, eat my dust!:singing:

    Update! Just received and cleaned::joyful:

    The two last pics are to compare the latest necklace with others I have (it is the one at the bottom!:cyclops:;))

    A faint blueish in hue and the color streaks make me wonder if it could be amazonite...
    Scratch test with a sharp steel needle left no mark, but as amazonite is 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale when jadeite is 6 to 7 is rather inconclusive:D

    Stone hounds opinions welcome:)

    Anyway, stone, not Peking or Czech glass.

    It is gorgeous, kyra.:happy: Is the clasp gold?
    Could be amazonite, could be jadeite jade, which can also be blueish. There is some ochre in there, which makes a case for amazonite, but doesn't rule out jadeite.
    So it is an -ite.:pompous::joyful:

    The clasp is old, unmarked, but appears to be gold filled:cyclops:
    I have in the vault a 24k repoussé bangle with which I'm sure are blueish jadeite pieces in it:) translucence is different though:rolleyes:
    Agree these beads are definitely -ite!:joyful:
