imo , according to the Keno brothers original finishes are the best as it shows the years and the patina ,and it would lose any value if refinished or painted .

    Hi,
It has a wonderful red maghogany finish. The new stuff around called red maghogany does not even come close. When I lived in Brooklyn I went to a factory where they made coffins and begged them for some of the red maghogany stain that used on their coffins. The workers sold me a quart of the stain they used. I used it on several pieces that I was refinshing and it was wonderful. The old pieces that had finish can not complete with the newer stuff.

it isn't as bad as the pics suggest ,in normal light the scratches are hard to see because it is so black , i love it as is , no stain needed , thanks for your opinion tho it's what i'm looking for .

    Hi,
Keno brothers deal with fine antiques. Yours is an old piece but common. Do not be afraid to restore it. The difference between a fine period antique and the "Sears Roebuck" piece. If it was a fine antique, made by a craftsman I would leave it alone but yours is not a fine antique.

  10. Hi everyone. I very much love the brown furniture. To me it all has character and always looks great. As for the people gutting the beautiful basement, they must have more money than brains.

What do you think about this? (Watch the video below)

They painted most of the dark wood panelling white. Of course the before-pictures were terrible low-quality shots of a messy house taken with the camera flash on in order to make it look terrible. It didn't have to look that way.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

I think they went wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too far.
SOME of those whitenings could have brightened up the space and accented the size and levels and nooks and crannies, but...
    Too far.
    For me.
The first thing I think when I see it it WOW, THEY PAINTED EVERYTHING WHITE!
Instead of WOW WHAT A GREAT SPACE!

there is a lot of white but i think that just saves on the light bill and accents anything hung that's not white like a big canvas.hell to keep clean

Do you have a link to your shop's website? I'd love to visit, if I'm in the area. :)
