vintage liar tie tac

    vintage Liar Tie tac
    Length from tip of Liar to the end of the bar is about 2 1/4"
    The dimensions of the Liar are around 3/8" x 1/2" x 5/8"
    The end of the liar is a lot longer than the tie tac slip on back. It does not look right and I can slip it off with my fingers. Do you think this is a lapel pin that someone tried to turn into a tie tac? If so, what type of back would it have had. Also, I would like to find out about its material and its decade?     Or "A" but it almost looks like it could have had another piece that slid in the middle.
