    It's made from a soft leather and leather trim . It is also very short . Was in with my Uncles military collection. Thanks

    If it's from WWII, "very short" probably means it was worn by a man of average size back then. ;)

    I'd say that this is an ammo-belt, and that the pouches stored magazines or clips of ammunition.
